Glenn Frey was an American singer, songwriter, actor, and founding member of the rock band Eagles. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan. He attended Dondero High School in Royal Oak and went on to study at Oakland Community College. Frey was a prolific songwriter, co-writing many of the Eagles' biggest hits, including "Take It Easy," "Peaceful Easy Feeling," "Tequila Sunrise," "Lyin' Eyes," and "New Kid in Town." He also wrote and sang the theme song for the hit television show Miami Vice. Frey was an accomplished musician, playing guitar, keyboards, and harmonica. He was also an actor, appearing in films such as Let's Get Harry and Jerry Maguire. Frey was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 as a member of the Eagles. He died in 2016 at the age of 67.
